What is ISO and What Does it Mean?
The International Organization for Standardization, headquartered in Geneva, developed a number of quality standards known as the ISO 9000 series. These standards have been so successful, and so great was the need, that in a very short time, over 90 countries have adopted them. The term ISO 9000 has become synonymous with quality in business and trade throughout the world.
United Van Lines (Canada) Ltd. has been registered within the 9001 series. This is the subgroup of the ISO 9000 family that pertains most directly to the moving service Industry.
Our ISO registration constitutes endorsement by a global organization sanctioned by the United Nations. It signifies that United Van Lines has been subjected to a rigorous formal review of all processes impacting the delivery of quality service. It also means that wherever you go in Canada, the application of United quality standards will provide consistently superior service.
ISO's stringent criteria have also established documentation standards in excess of the requirements of most of our corporate accounts. This relieves relocation managers of the onerous task of accumulating evidence of United's compliance with documentation specifications. Scrutiny has already been performed by impartial ISO auditors
